Gabriel Ian Jones was born three and a half months premature at Clarion Hospital in Indianapolis, due to a chromosome disorder, called Trisomy 18. Which is a rare disorder that deals with how the chromosomes split, it has no real known reason for occuring during a pregnancy. I was sent to an Indianapolis hospital where they have more information on the disorder. Trisomy 18 causes the muscles in the baby to not develope right, rocker bottom feet, cleft pallet, heart problems, brain informalities, the hands to stay clinched, and varies other informalities. From what I was told from the doctors there have only been three known cases in the world where the child has lived to be in their teen years. It is very hard on the child and their families. When we found out what was wrong with our son we had the choice to go on with the pregnancy or to induce the labor. We felt that the best choice for Gabriel was to induce the labor due to his problems that came with trisomy 18 it would be an easier labor on him and for me. If I would have had him at full term there would be a higher risk of me getting toxemia in which would have resulted in the chance of my death along with Gabriels. I truley feel that Gabriel was an angel sent from above to our family. I believe that Gabriel brought our family closer together in many different ways.

Gabriel was our second child. He has an older brother named Skylier that is three years old, three aunts, one uncle, and six cousins that love him dearly and wish to of known what could have been. If only things were different. There are so many if onlys in the world that we could say, only god knows the true reason he sent us our precious angel. Some day we will know the reason too.
