He was born on January 22, 1948 to Harvey and Beatrice (Broderick) Krueger at Oshkosh. He grew to adulthood at Omro. James is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969.
James was united in marriage on July 3, 1971 in Omro. They moved to Burr Ridge, rural Hillsboro in 1976 and established their home on a dairy farm they purchased and raised their family. In addition to farming he was also active in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kendall, serving as Usher, as a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion and served as Town Chairman from 1991 to 1995. But most of all he enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and father-in-law, William May.
