I cannot here do justice to Mr. Arbuckle's contributions to the people of San Jose. He was the only child of William Goodrich and Mary Gordon Arbuckle, both of whom were married before and had families.

The front of the stone reads:

Back of Stone:
San Jose City Historian for fifty three years. First Director of the San Jose Historical Museum. A founder of the Conference of California Historical Societies. Member of the Masons, Pioneers of Santa Clara County Argonauts, Historical Society, E. Clampus Vitus. Author of the 1985 Definitive History of San Jose. Prolific writer and photographer of Western State and local history
