J.M. "Uncle Jimmie" Jones died Friday afternoon in his home here following a siege of pneumonia, at the age of 81 years and three months. Funeral services was held Saturday afternoon in the Church of Christ, Rev C.W. Spencer conducting the service and interment was made in the Rush Springs cemetery with Callaway and Muliican in charge.

"Uncle Jimmie" was born December 15, 1853 in Mississippi. On April 19, 1877 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Eugenia Parish in Texas and to this union were born seven children, four sons and three daughters. He brought his family to Rush Springs in 1901 and spent the remainder of his life-34 years-in this vicinity.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Walter, Joe and Arthur Jones of Rush Springs and Henry Jones of El Reno; one daughter Sallie Jones of Rush Springs; three brothers Sam Jones of Amherst, TX Henry Coolidge Jones of Texas, and Thad Jones of Ranger Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

"Uncle Jimmie" became identified with the Church of Christ about 45 years ago to which he remained faithful until his death and smiling countenance even in face of adversity will be missed by hundred in and around Rush Springs.
