Abel Hinckley Pendleton was born at Westerly, R.I., 16 Feb 1811, and lived nearly his whole life in Norfolk, Conn., where he was a farmer, well liked and respected by all who knew him. In 1879 he represented the town in the Connecticut Legislature. He died at Norfolk, 19 April 1882. His first wife, whom he married at Westfield, Mass., 5 Mar 1835, was Zeruiah Eggleston, born 17 Feb 1811, died 31 July 1842, daughter of Eli and Zeruiah (Searles) Eggleston. He married (2) at Norfolk, 2 Feb 1845 Berona Curtiss, born 16 Feb 1819, Winchester, Conn., died 25 Dec 1860, daughter of Jared and Submit (Hubbard) Curtiss. Abel married (3) at Canaan, Conn. 20 Nov 1863, Mrs. Jane Augusta (Hurd) Pratt, born 29 May 1819, Goshen, Conn., died 26 Aug 1869, widow of William Pratt and daughter of Stephen and Huldah (Curtiss) Hurd.
