F.L. Diamond Dies At 83
Frampton Lawton Diamond, 83, formerly of Chestnut Street, Columbia, died Tuesday at the VA Medical Center.
Born in Barnwell, he was a son of the late Seibert and Ann Moody Diamond. He was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church and a retired civil service employee after 30 years of service. In 1960, Mr. Diamond was named Columbia area Handicap Man of the Year.
Surviving are his daughter; Mrs. O.F. (Mary) Harmon Jr. of Lexington; a son, John M. Diamond of Cayce; and three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Alvin B. O'Sheilds. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
