Forester Mi. Oct. 8th 1941- Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30pm from the Methodist church for William H. Ferris, 89, who died from injuries he received Saturday night in front of one of the business places when he was hit by an automobile operated by Thomas Kerbyson of Detroit Mi. Rev. H. C. Watkins, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial was made in Forester cemetery.
Mr. Ferris was born Oct. 3, 1852, in New York state and came to Michigan when 5 years old with his parents John Richard Ferris and Salmone (Daley) Ferris, who settled at Forester. Mr. Wm. Ferris had been a resident of this community since coming to this place. He lost his fine home last summer and has been living in a trailer house since.
Followig the accident Saturday night, he was immediately rushed to a hospital in Port Huron, but died on the way. His body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Davidson in Port Huron, were short rites were conducted before the body was brought to the church for final rites.
He is survived by one son, Charles Ferris, Mrs. Lucy Davidson and Mrs, Roy Cowan, both of Port Huron and several grand children. Link to Michigan Death Certificate: 005240494_02232
