Gerald Abbott passed away peacefully on April 20th at his home in Rowlett TX surrounded by his loving family. He was 68. Mr. Abbott retired from TXU after 28 years and then began a security company under contract to The State Fair of Texas. He was an avid fan and collector of Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, a league bowler once bowling a perfect game, and a musician having been drum major in high school and member of the Texas Tech Goin Band from Raiderland. He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Rosemarie Abbott; daughter: Brenda Haines and husband Mark Allen; sons: Gregg Abbott and wife Paige and Michael Abbott and wife Robin; granddaughters: Mackenzie, Natalie and Taylor; brother: Larry Joe Abbott; four nephews, a niece and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents W.W. "Shorty" and Doris Eugenia "Jean" Cardwell Abbott.
