Born Oct. 10, 1907, in Sturgeon Bay, he had been a Neenah resident for 54 years. He was employed at the Kimberly-Clark Corp.'s Lakeview division for 45 years, until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Sawyer was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club and a charter member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are his widow, Leone; two daughters, Mrs. Carleton (Mardelle) Giese and Mrs. John (Karlene) Newbauer, both of Neenah; one son, Karl, Neenah; two brothers, Edward, Sturgeon Bay and Francis, Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Milton (Norma) Walker and Marion Haglun, both of Sturgeon Bay and Pearl Meyer, Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Kessler Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with Monsignor Eugene Hotchkiss and Rev. Justin Werner officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
A memorial is being established.
