VISALIA, Calif. - Ruth Borg, 73, of Visalia, formerly of Carleton, died at 11:57 p.m. on February 4th in Visalia. She had been ill for a month.

Services were held February 10th at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, Visalia. Her son, the Rev. David Borg, officiated. Burial was private.

Born July 9th, 1933, in Mackinaw City, she was the daughter of Ben and Etta Wilson Preston. She married John Borg on August 31st, 1951, in Angola, Ind. He died in 2003.

Mrs. Borg worked for Huron Schools in the 1970s. She was then an assistant branch manager at Erie State Bank, from the late 1970s through 1987.

Surviving are a son, David (Martha) of Baton Rouge, La.; five daughters, Toni (Dan) Clark of Monroe, Allyson (Orville) Suemnick of Murrieta, Calif., Donna (Steve) Gabalis of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Katherine James and Karen Borg, both of Visalia; a brother, Thomas of Southgate; a sister, Dorothy Hayes of Mackinaw City; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John "Jack" in 2004.
