Louisa Hale was born in Greenwich, Huron, Ohio to John H. and Lizzie Hale on 20 Oct 1836. Louisa married Gideon Reynolds Covill in Huron County, Ohio in 1852. They moved to Cascade Twp., Kent, Michigan. Gideon served in the civil war and Louisa was a member of the Lowell Relief Corps. Gideon and Louisa were blessed with 10 children: Anna, Henry A., Bryon, an unnamed infant, William R., Nettie E., Alice, Harriet, Emma, and Rosa L. Louisa lost most of her children at early ages. Only four were still living in 1899 when Louisa lost her life to bladder cancer.
