For over 26 years, he was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as an insurance agent. He retired in 1968.
Joe was a member of the Metropolitan Retiress Veterans Club & a member of the Mt. Clemens Auxillary Police. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mt. Clemens & of the Huron Point Sportsman Club, where he served as treasurer.
His hobbies included golfing, bowling, & fishing.
His survived by his wife, Mary, 2 sons, James J. (Anna) Bryer Sr. of Columbus, Michigan, Roger D. Bryer of Mt. Clemens, a daughter, Donna (John) Barrett of Mt. Clemens, 7 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Thomas & Frank, & 2 sisters, Ann Biene & Josephine Irwin.
