NORTH FT. MYERS, Fla. — Patrick T. Lynch of North Ft. Myers, Fla., passed away at Gulf Coast Medical Center on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, after a brief illness.

Born on Nov. 28, 1935, in Meadville, Patrick was the eldest child of LeRoy T. and Julia K. (Swaney) Lynch.


He is survived by his children and their spouses, Patrick and Maryann Lynch of Torrance, Calif., Timothy Lynch and Barbara Ranieri, Brendan and Andrea Lynch, all of Clinton, Mass., Mary Lynch and Kevin Lyons, Kevin and Kristen Lynch, Brian and Trish Lynch, Jane and Larry Barbash, all of Shrewsbury, Mass. He is survived by his former wife, Grace Lynch of Clinton; and his grandchildren, Patrick, Kathryn, Michael, Connor, Ava, Marissa, Jessica, Erin and Daniel Lynch, Chad, Julie and Noah Barbash, Philip and Ariana Weihn, Emily Shocklee, Chelsea and Ben Lyons.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Terrance and Judy, Daniel and Mary Lee, Christopher and Anne, Sean and Vicki Lynch, all of Erie, Jean and John Mottillo, Michael and Mary Ann Lynch, all of Meadville, Eileen Ownby of Knoxville, Tenn., Luanne Lynch and Jennifer Leech of San Gabriel, Calif. He is predeceased by his brother, Timothy Lynch. He is survived by 17 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is predeceased by a nephew, Michael Lynch Jr.

He leaves his companion, Sharon Inman, and her children, Catherine, Richard and James DeMar.

Patrick attended Meadville High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957. Most of his career was spent as a printing pressman, starting at the former Colonial Press, Clinton, followed by other local companies. Patrick worked as a horse trainer in Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina and finally in Ocala, Fla. While living in Yankeetown, Fla., he enjoyed sailing local waters.

Patrick was a parishioner of Blessed Pope John Paul XXIII Catholic Church, a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a good friend of Bill Wilson.

The family gratefully acknowledges the special care and support from dear friends, Tammy and Charlie Vickery. They also acknowledge the expert and compassionate care provided by the doctors and nurses at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Ft. Myers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, Fort Myers. There are no calling hours, and burial services will be held in St. James Cemetery, Crossingville, at a later date.
