Edith Hobart Stephens, 87, passed away March 1, 2005, at Independence Regional Health Center. Mrs. Stephens was born to Arthur and Ida Adair, in Adair, OK, coming to Kansas City as a young girl. She lived most of her life in Independence, MO, and was a devoted and active member of Rockwood Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, M. Wayne Hobart and Loren Stephens, husband of 10 years, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by two daughters and sons-inlaw, five grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Edith was loved and admired by all who knew her and will forever live in the hearts of family and friends. She was truly a great lady.
