Johnnie B. Gowans passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Corinth Baptist Church, the Rev. Gary Brumfield, pastor, officiating. Interment: Garden of Gospel in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, with military honors. Visitation: Mr. Gowans' friends may visit him 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors and 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Survivors: Children, Nathaniel and Manuel Malloy, Ernest Linford (Celeste), Tony Gowans, Tammy Gowans Adams, Earline Watson(Robert); 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
