Malissa was also married to Warren L Schutt, and they had a daughter named Amelia, who later married William Nelson Stafford. Amelia is buried next to her mother and William is buried in Loveland Colorado. Malissa's last husband was Edward Slayton.

Slayton Obituary
Malissa M. Slayton was born at Stonington, Illinois on January 17, 1844. She was united in marriage to Shult Warner in 1871. Five Children were born. Mr. Warner Died in 1878. She came to Kansas and married E. D. Slayton Jan. 21, 1901. She departed this life April 10, 1917.
Left to mourn her loss, a loving husband, two children and three grandchildren. She was converted in early childhood and lived a consistent christian until her death.
Funeral services conducted thursday of last week by the Rev. J. R. Daniels. Internment made in cemetery north of town.Western Kansas News

MRS. MARGARET SLAYTON
PASSES AWAY TUESDAY

Mrs. E. D. Slayton died Tuesday afternoon at her home on West Fifteenth street, after a lingering illness with pleural pneumonia. Death be attributed to heart failure in last stages of the illness. The funeral service was held from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. J. L. Daniels officiating and burial was made in the Goodland cemetery.

Malissa M. Taylor was born in
Stormington, Christian county, Illinois on January 17, 1844 and died in Goodland, Kansas., April 10, 1917, being 73 years of age at her death. She was married twice. She was married to Schult Warner in 1871. To this union was born five children. Mr. Warner died in 1878, her marriage to Mr. Slayton being January 21, 1901. By her death she leaves besides her husband, two daughters, Mrs. T. W. Hill and Mrs. W. N. Stafford, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mrs. Slayton was always an upright, Christian woman, a good mother and loving wife, as well as an obliging neighbor, and her death will be a sad loss to the community.

*****It is not known where this woman is buried and there is no known tombstone for her in the Goodland cemetery. I have included her in the Goodland cemetery for genealogical research purposes based on the obituary.*****
