Janie Marie Reeves Newton, 85, of Orange passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on July 16, 1928 in Johnson Bayou, Louisiana to parents Betty(Green)Pevoto and Ray Pevoto. She had lived in Orange most of her life and was a member of In His Step Church I Orange. Janie had worked with Texas Home Health for many years as a home provider and was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 214. She enjoyed mowing the grass and sending card she made to her loved ones. Janie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Burch , step father, Aaron Bud Burch, father, Ray Burnell Pevoto; son, William “Pete” McManus; sisters, Lois Murphy, Jewel Gilcrease, Betty Landry; brothers, Clyde Pevoto, Eldau Pevoto, Ovie Pevoto, Kenneth Pevoto, A.G. Burch, Archie Burch.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Newton of Orange; daughters, Margie Ann Kelley of Evadale, Daisy Marie Reeves and husband, J.C. of Orange; sons, Clyde “CB” Burnell McManus and wife, Tamra Marie of Avinger; sister, Johnnie Ellen Hudson and husband, M.V. of New London, TX; brothers, Cecil Pevoto Sulphur, LA. She also survived by ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 11 am until 1 pm at Dorman Funeral Home, with A Memorial Service held at 1 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services under the director of Dorman Funeral Home.

Family would like to say a special thank you to great granddaughter, Alysa “Little Bit” Molin, for setting and taking great care of her great grandmother.
