During the Civil War he served in the 111th NY Infantry as follows: L I N N , L E W I S G . — Age, 19 years. Enlisted at Thurston, to
serve one year, and mustered in as private, Co. I, August 26, 1864; mustered out with company, June 4, 1865, near Alexandria, V a Why his stone has 3 NY Infantry is a puzzle. Pension index card shows only service in the 111NYI.
