Three Council Rock High School South students were killed and another was injured Saturday in a rollover crash in northeastern Pennsylvania and two others in the SUV were also injured, according to police.

Shamus M. Digney of Holland died Saturday August 30, 2014 at Geisinger-Community Medical Center after a car accident claimed his innocent life.

He was 15 years old and taken from us all too soon.

Shamus was born November 11, 1998 in Meadowbrook. He is survived by his loving parents Kathleen M. Digney and Charles J. Digney Jr. (Karen), his dear siblings; Trish (Scott), Dan (Erica), Megan (Chris), Ryan, DJ, Chase, Morgan and Cole, his maternal grandfather Donald J. McPeak and paternal grandmother Sally Digney and will be forever missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his nephew Logan and his stepsisters Lauren and Kiersten.

His infectious smile lit up everyone’s day and his big heart made him lovable to all. He was a dedicated basketball and football player and had so much passion for the game and his teammates. He was an active member of the St. Bede Parish where he played CYO sports and was an altar server. Shamus was to begin his sophomore year at Council Rock South.

Shamus's family will receive condolences Friday evening, Sept. 5th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd. Holland.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Richboro.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Bede the Venerable Church at the above address or Council Rock Basketball Association, c/o Council Rock High School, South 2002 Rock Way Holland PA 18966.
