Linda Gilliland, age 71 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully August 29, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, Wisconsin with her loving family by her side. Linda was born June 14, 1943 in Monmouth, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Finley) Carwile. She grew up in Monmouth and graduated in 1961 as the salutatorian of her class. She later attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois majoring in speech correction and minoring in music. In 1983 she and her husband moved to Sac City, Iowa, in 1989 they moved to Lodi, Wisconsin and finally in 1992 moved to Wisconsin Dells where she became very involved in the Presbyterian church. Linda loved music and played and sang at church and gave music lessons as well. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting and reading. Following her husbands retirement from banking in 2008, together they wintered in Texas and Florida. Linda is survived by her husband; 2 sons; 2 daughters; sisters; 7 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial funeral services held August 31, 2014 at the United Presbyterian Church in Wisconsin Dells. Private graveside interment services will be held at a later date in Monmouth, Illinois.
