The remains of Mrs. Hannah Ritchie, whose death occurred Saturday morning at Indianapolis, were brought to Franklin Tuesday morning for burial. A large number of friends from Indianapolis accompanied the remains. Mrs. Ritchie was born in Cincinnati, O., in 1833. She was married to John Beall for many years, she and her husband resided in Franklin. After Mr. Beall’s death she married Gen. John Ritchie and moved to Topeka, Kansas, where in 1887 she was again left a widow. She then returned to Indianapolis and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. S. L. Houston.

Note: Indiana, Death Certificates, 1899–2011, Indianapolis, Center Township, Marion County, Certificate and Record of Death, page 363 records that Hannah Ritchey [sic] died at about 7:45 o’clock a. m. on 7 Apr 1900 at her residence, 1114 N. Alabama [Indianapolis] from pneumonia of 29 days’ duration, aged 67 years. She was female, white, and widowed, born in Cincinnati. Parents were: Thomas Helstrip and Sarah Barnett, both born in Ohio. The informant was a member of the family. She was buried in Franklin, Indiana on 10 Apr 1900, F. A. Blanchard, undertaker.
