John Grymes, born (according to a deposition) in 1660. “Col. John Grymes died Aug. 28, and was buried Aug. 31, 1709” (Christ Church Register). He lived first in Gloucester and removed to Middlesex where he lived at “Grymesby” on the Pianketanke River. He was a justice and Colonel of Militia of Middlesex County and a vestryman of Christ Church parish. He married Alice, daughter of Lawrence Townley and granddaughter of Augustine Warner Sr., of “Warner Hall”, Gloucester Co.
