Mr. Curtis Junior Branch, age 67 of Mount Airy, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, September 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on October 7, 1946 to the late William Howard and Anna Vivian Badgett Branch. Mr. Branch was a retired self employed trucker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Hope Smith Branch, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law. Pamela Lynn and Timothy Burton of Westfield; his beloved grandchildren, Curtis Ray Burton and Katherine Hope Burton Bumgardner; a great-granddaughter, Anna Katherine Bumgardner; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and “Red” Joyce of Mount Airy; and a very special nephew, Blake "Joey" Inman. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in the cemetery of Blues Grove Baptist Church by Brother Roger Pickett with burial to follow. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative care for their loving and compassionate care.
