NORMA ELIZABETH MEREDITH, 81, of Colorado Springs died Friday in a local care center. She was a homemaker. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Swan-Law Eastside Sunset Chapel, 3825 Airport Road, with the Rev. Harold Shoemaker officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mrs. Meredith was born July 23, 1908, in Carbondale, Ill., to Lloyd Orsen and Mary Elizabeth (Wade) Carter. She had been a resident of the area for 26 years and previously lived in Herrin, Ill. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Meredith was married July 5, 1926, in Colp, Ill., to Ira E. Meredith, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Lloyd D. of Colorado Springs and David L. of Lansing, Kan.; two daughters, Wilma J. Spelbring of Colorado Springs and Mary E. Scott of Loveland; a brother, James O. Carter of Greeley; a sister, Lillian E. Lester of Steilacoom, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
