Elmer O. Larned Passes Suddenly Last Night After Brief Illness

Elmer O. Larned, 27, died suddenly at 5 o'clock at the family home 627 South Fifth Street. Mr. Larned recently suffered an attack of influenza which developed last Friday into pneumonia. The death came unexpectedly and as a severe shock to his relatives and friends, just after the passing of his brother, Everett LeRoy Larned, who was fatally injured in an automobile accident shortly before his death last October 20th.

Mr. Larned was born in Bostwick, Nebraska, October 4, 1907 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Larned, now of Corvallis. He came to Oregon with his parents in 1913 and the Larned's located in Corvallis where he had since resided. He attended the grade schools in this city and was graduated fron Corvallis High School. Later he was associated with his father and was a plasterer by profession.

He married Miss Cleo Porter March 30, 1930. Besides the widow and a little son LeRoy, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Larned, and two sisters, Mrs. Audrey Bryant, Corvallis, and Mrs. Elsie McCue of Sacramento, California.

The funeral service is to be held in the chapel of the Keeney Funeral Home at 10:30 Saturday morning, with Dr. John S. Burns of the Federated Churches officiating. Interment will be held in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Note: My geat grandmother, their mother told me later it was the worst time in her life. She had lost her father in June and one son in October and the other just Christmas.
