Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Quilon A. Darden, 79, of El Centro, who died Thursday in El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Services will be Friday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro. Pastor Samuel Moore of Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ of El Centro will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.

Mrs. Darden was born on March 18, 1922, in Cooperton, Okla. She came to the Imperial Valley with her parents in the early 1930s, settling in El Centro. She attended local schools.

She married L.C. Darden in El Centro in 1945 and worked for many years in the domestic industry before her retirement.

Mrs. Darden was a dedicated member of Holy Tabernacle Church of El Centro for many years, where she served as a secretary and licensed missionary. She lived for her family and her church, according to family.

Survivors include her husband, L.C. Darden Sr. of El Centro; sons, Ronald and L.C. Darden Jr., both of El Centro; daughter, Imogene Falkner of San Bernardino; brother, Maurice Wiley of Los Angeles; sister-in-law, Helen Wiley of Los Angeles; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
