DESPONDENT MAN SHOOTS SELF

Wm. J. Sunderman, Near Hext, Shot
Himself Friday Afternoon.

Wm. J. Sunderman, residing near Hext, has been in very poor health for a year past, being unable to work the dread tubercolosis having fastened itself upon him, and physicians handing out no hope for him.

Friday forenoon he secured a target rifle and informed his wife that he would walk out over the farm and get a couple of rabbits. When he failed to return at noon a search started for him, but not until 4:30 was he found, and then his father and brother found him lying in the ditch along side the road, with a bullet hole through his forehead.

Officers and doctors were telephoned for from this city, he being still alive, but unconscious. He was brought to this city, and at Elk City. Neither the Sayre physicians nor those at the hospital were able to locate the bullet but it was ascertained that it had lodged in the brain.

He lingered until Sunday night, when he passed away. The remains were brought to this city, and funeral services held on Monday afternoon. Interment was at Doxey-Sayre cemetery. The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of all Beckham county in their affliction.

The young man was 30 years of age, married and the father of three children. Since over- ____ ___ing health he has _____ _____ ______ father G. A. Sunderman, and this fact made him despondent , with the result that he had frequently threatened suicide.
