Mr. Gokey was employed as a shingle weaver through northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. He later homesteaded at Ontonagon, Mich., where he resided until 1939. He was employed in shipyards at Sturgeon Bay before retiring in 1944.
He was born May 4, 1876, at Green Bay and moved Wausaukee as a young man. He married the former Harriet Loveless there in 1896.
