Falkville

Dakota Shane Cocke was born Wednesday, August 13, 2014. This precious little boy passed peacefully into Heaven in the arms of his loving parents on September 2, 2014. During his three short weeks, he touched many people and was loved deeply by his family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 1:00 PM in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Compton officiating. Burial will be at Herring Cemetery.

Dakota is survived by his parents Michael and Courtney Cocke and big sister Lily Cocke of Falkville. Grandparents Joan Cocke of Falkville and Scott and Melissa Moore of Somerville. Great-grandparents Brenda Alvis, Jimmy Rittman, C L Moore, and Fay Barber, all of Hartselle.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Bobby Cocke.

Dakota's parents would like to thank all of their family, friends, and even the strangers who have shown them so much love and kindness during the last few weeks. They would also like to thank OB/GYN Associates of Decatur, UAB Huntsville Women's Group, Hunstville Hospital nurses and staff, and Huntsville Hospital NICU doctors and nurses for their loving care. Thank you to Johnny and Christy Johnson and Mayfair Church of Christ for the love shown through Shanon's House of Compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
