Jesse O. Aikins, 77, of Main St., Elderton, died at 1:30 p.m. yesterday, Aug. 14, 1967, at the Armsdale Home, following a lingering illness.
He was born April 11, 1890, in Shelocta, a son of John and Sara (Miller) Aikins.
Mr. Aikins was a retired farmer and a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Gastown. He was a former superintendent of Sunday School for several years at the church.
His wife, Annie (Harmon) Aikins, died in January 1965.
Survivors include five sons, Kenneth of Shelocta, Laird of Apollo, Dean of Saltsburg, Charles of Elderton and Leland of Elderton; two daughters Mrs. Lois Hall of Avonmore and Mrs. Cleo Cunningham of Saltsburg; 16 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren, and one brother, Lebana Aikins of Natrona Heights.
AIKINS -- Friends of Jessie 0. Aikins, 77, of Main Street, Elderton, who died Aug. 14, 1967 will be received tonight from 7 to 9 and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clarence P. Clark Funeral Home in Elderton. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, with Rev. Edward P. Balint, pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Elderton Cemetery. Arrangements by Clark.
