SALMON, Id.- Funerel Services for Lewis Zane Abbott, 79, will be held at the Russon Bros. Chapel on Saturday March 26. 1994 at l:00 p.m. in Bountiful, Utah, with Bishop Lee Allen conducting. Mr. Abbott died at his home in Salmon following a lingering illness.

Father and Grandfather passed away at home March 22, 1994 in Salmon, Idaho. Zane was born March 29, 1914 in Farmington, Utah, and attended schools in Tremonton, graduating from Bear River High School, attending Utah State Agricultural College and the University of Mexico.

Zane married Martha Helen Allen on December 2, 1942 in San Augelo, Texas. and they have enjoyed over 51 years of marriage.

Zane was a WW II veteran, flight instructor, squadron commander, and pilot in the Pacific Campaign. He flew over 20 combat missions in B-29 bombers during a distinguished military career of over 30 years. Zane served all over the world and had residences in eight different states. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 as a lieutenant colonel. At the time of his death, Zane was an Elder in the Salmon 2nd Ward LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife Helen, three sons. Lewis Zane Jr. of Salmon, Idaho, Leo Allen Abbott of Tonopah, Nevada, and Michael Edwin Abbott of Richmond, Utah. Also surviving are a sister, Dana Jean Ottie, of Salt Lake City, and a brother, Stanley K. Abbott, of Dillion, Montana. Mr. Abbott had 10 grandchildren.

Burial will take place in the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Utah. Under the Auspices of the HILL AFB HONORGUARD. Arrangements and services were all handled under the direction of the Jones and Casey Funeral Home Inc. of Salmon, Idaho.
