Word on Funeral Arrangements Sought From Daughters.

Funeral arrangements for Edmund L. Devereaux, 48, 1160 Milwaukee avenue, who died of heart disease Monday night, await word from his two daughters, Alice and Mary, who are in a summer camp on the Olympic peninsula. Those in charge of arrangements had been unable to get in touch with the girls yesterday. The body is at the Holman & Lutz parlors.

Mr. Devereaux, president of the Devereaux Mortgage company, loan agents for the New York Life Insurance company, came to Portland 20 years ago from Detroit, Mich. He was prominent in Portland business and social circles, and was a member of the Arlington, University and Waverly Country clubs. He suffered a heart attack in Eugene about six weeks ago, but had apparently recovered.

Mr. Devereaux was born in Houghton, Mich., November 11, 1878, in the Lake Superior country, his boyhood being spent in Marquette, Mich., where his father was a prominent mining engineer. Mr. Devereaux was the great-great-grandson of General Benjamin Lincoln.

He is survived by his widow, Alice Sibson Devereaux, and four children, Chauncey Winslow, Edmund Lincoln Jr., and his daughters, Alice and Mary.

OTHER INFORMATION:
