Alice H. Douglas 1916 ~ 2006

Alice Hurren Douglas passed away June 8 from causes related to advanced age. She was 89 years old.

She was born July 24, 1916 in Hyde Park, Utah to James W and Ingra Toolson Hurren. She married William Walters Douglas, July 16, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1972.

She was an active member of the LDS church and served in many positions of the church. She was a member of the Union Fort Sixth Ward. Alice graduated from North Cache High School, Richmond Utah, and attended Utah State University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity.

She was employed 1936-1941 at the Cache Valley Banking Company, Logan, Utah and employed 1975-1982 at the Dept. of Employment, Boise, Idaho. She along with her husband operated a dry farm until 1966.

She lived in Boise Idaho from 1969 to 1982, returning to Salt Lake City to be near her family. She was a most caring and dedicated mother and wife, and took care of her husband for nine years after he suffered a major stroke until his death.

She is survived by two sons, William Rodger Douglas and Richard H Douglas (Sandi) and one daughter Janet D. Montrone (Randy), two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both of her sisters and both of her brothers. Grave side services and internment will be in the Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise Idaho.
