LAMARITE DIES HERE MONDAY
Bennett Bellman Keenportz, 84, of rural Lamar, died Monday in Sacred Heart Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Cumberland County, Pa., Keenportz had lived in Prowers County over 50 years. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include a brother, Oscar Brown, also of rural Lamar.
Services will at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Dolsen Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ray Allen officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Funeral services for Bennett Bellman Keenportz were held at Dolsen Mortuary chapel at 2 p.m., March 15, with the Rev. Ray Allen as minister. Bernard Orr sang "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "He'll Understand." Mrs. Sharon Clark was accompanist.
Casket bearers were Lee Eddy, Robert C. Francisco, R.D. Bamber, Albert Scherer, Martin Tanner and Jake Pace. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery.
Mr. Keenportz, who died March 13, 1967, at Sacred Heart Hospital, had lived in Prowers County 50 years and was a farmer.
He is survived by a brother, Oscar Brown, south of Lamar; nieces and nephews.
