Mrs. H. E. Merrill
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Bell Merrill, 80, were held February 26 at the Davis Memorial Chapel. Rev. Richard F. Beyer, pastor of the First Congregational Church, and Rev. George Paul, pastor of the Pittsford Congregational Church, officiated. Mrs. Merrill, the daughter of Frank J. and Addie (rice) Bell, was born August 15, 1871 in Blackberry, Ill. The widow of Rev. Harry E. Merrill, she made her home with her tow daughters, Mrs. Ray Whitcomb of Springfield and Mrs. William Patch of Pittsford. Other survivors are three grandchildren, Merrill Whitcomb of Springfield and Eloise and Eugene Patch of Pittsford; two great-grandchildren, Hallie and Cherry Whitcomb; a nephew, Frank J. Bell of Springfield, and cousins in Maine and New Hampshire. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Golden Rule Circle of the King's Daughters. Honorary bearers were Richard Whitcomb, Merle Prevost, W. Charles Bliss and Mark White. Out of town relatives and friends were present from Claremont, N. H., Ludlow, Pittsford, and Castleton, Vt.

Mrs. Julia B. Merrill Rites
Springfield, Feb. 27. - Services for Mrs. Julia Bell Merrill, 80, were held yesterday in the Davis Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Richard F. Beyer, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiated. Bearers were Mark White, Merle Prevost, Richard Whitcomb and Charles Bliss. Burial will be in the spring in Fairlee.

Word has been received of the death of a former resident, Mrs. Julia B. Merrill, who passed away at the Springfield hospital of pneumonia and complications. Mrs. Merrill lived in Fairlee several years. She was a helpful member of the community and a kind and loyal friend.
