Miss Imogene Auwarter, 65, of Troy, died at 5:19 p.m. Friday in St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Miss Auwarter was a Troy school teacher for 40 years until her retirement in 1974.
She was born July 1, 1911, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Caroline Dalvege Auwarter.
She is survived by brothers Alfred Auwarter and Charles Auwarter, both of Troy, and sisters Miss Lucille Auwarter of Troy and Mrs. Kenneth (Eleanor) Ross of Carrollten.
Miss Auwarter was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, and the Troy Presbyterian Church. She was a music major at McKendree College, and a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today in the Troy Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Oliver Churchal officiating. Burial was to be in the Troy City Cemetery. The Edwards Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
