"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 205, No 12, p 33, Dec., 1983.

Gladys Coon Hemminger died May 19, 1983, at the age of 84. She was born September 18, 1899, in Little Genesee, N. Y., the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. Burdette Coon.

In years to follow, she committed her life to Christ, and as a nurse she enlisted in the Army Reserves. At the Fitz Simons Army Hospital near Denver, Colo., while in service, she met Glendale Hemminger, and they were married on December 18, 1927.

After she had received her discharge, they moved from state to state. Following her husband's death, her later years were spent in southern California, where she was ever active in the Lord's work.

She is survived by one daughter, Alice Bauer, White Rocks, Utah; seven grandchildren; one sister, Tacy Brackett, San Diego, Calif.; and countless friends, many to whom she left a priceless legacy of faith, hope, and love.

Interment was in the Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.; and services were conducted by Rev. Anton L. Wheeler.
