Elizabeth Prachyl Cantrell, 83, a loving mother, wife and grandmother, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of St. Stephen Catholic Church of Weatherford. Interment: Longcreek Cemetery. Visitation: 5 p.m. Sunday, with rosary at 7, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford. Elizabeth was born in Austin on May 24, 1931. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She had a smile that never quit and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed helping people all of her life. She loved gardening and was very proud of her flower gardens for which she won awards. She volunteered at the church and at Weatherford Regional Medical Center for many years. She was a member of the St. Stephen quilting group where she helped make many quilts for the needy. She had many struggles in her early years but managed to always keep a happy disposition about life. She did a great job raising her seven children for which the family are all very grateful. A very special thanks to all of the caregivers at The Arbor House where she had lived for the last three years. The family is very grateful for the kindness and great care she received while living there. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Gremminger; brother, Henry Gremminger; and husbands, Tony Prachyl, Johnnie Prachyl and Lester Cantrell. Survivors: Children, Wanda Barham and husband, Mike, Judy Prachyl, Donna Wallace and husband, Jimmie, David Prachyl and wife, Tammie, Sharon Kleiber and husband, Steve, Debbie Boles and husband, David, James Prachyl and wife, Arlynn; and stepson, Allen Prachyl and wife, Cap. She had 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will miss her tremendously.
