Marilyn Kay Snover Short, 76 of Endwell NY passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born in West Pittston, PA to the late Earl J & Laura E Hosier Snover. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald E Short; two daughters, Dianne L Lunn of Hilton NY and Carolyn L Rudolph of Endwell, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Beverly) Snover of Crossville TN; four grandchildren and one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; also her dog Misty and grand puppy Chloe whom she loved so much.

Marilyn loved to garden, plant flowers, shop, she loved and spoiled her dogs, but she was most famous for her cooking and baking. Her Christmas cookies were amazing; she baked many MANY dozens of cookies each year to give away to family and friends, with several trays of cookies going to the hairdressers at Nick's, where she'd been a customer for over 40 years. Marilyn mailed tins of raisin-filled cookies to her brother and nephews at Christmas time to Tennesee, South Carolina, and Georgia. Easter time it was her famous hot cross buns. She made so many, again, to give away to family and friends.

She loved holidays...decorating the house, not only every room in the house, but outside as well. She loved painting ceramics...she has many Santa Claus's that she painted with great detail, and many other beautiful figurines for the different holidays as well. She painted so much she had to have surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome.

Marilyn was a very generous and funny woman, always wanting to do for others. She was loved by so many and will be GREATLY missed.

Marilyn was a longtime member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, Endwell and served as a Deacon for many years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, next to her parents.
