Jim was living in Jacumba, CA. He had traveled to Bakersfield, and died in unusual circumstances -- he passed in his sleep. However, his death was ruled consistent to (with) his existing health issues, therefore not "suspicious".

James "Jim" C. Young, formerly of Springfield, Mo., was born Dec. 22, 1950, and died Jun 29, 1998 in Bakersfield, Calif. Jim trusted in the Lord in December of 1960 at the old High Street Baptist Church. He joined the army in 1967 [1969?] serving two terms in Vietnam as a Military Policeman. He was awarded a purple heart and was discharged in 1965 after a disabling parachute jump. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Young, in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Teri; a daughter, Jamie, and her mother, Cindie; his mother and step-father, Eliza and Frances (Young) Shaffer; a sister, Linda Hodges; two brothers, Ray and Joe Young, and their families; a step-sister, Donna Anderson; a step-brother, Danny Shaffer; and many other family members and friends. Military services and burial will be in Point Lama, Calif.
