William Lee Trent was born to the late Charlie and Matilda Trent in Greenport, NY. He graduated from the Riverhead School System and was recognized for his wrestling ability.
William met and married Barabara Williams just before enlisting in the Armed Forces. To that union one child was born.
In 1972 he was honorably discharged from the military. William worked for Brooklyn National Laboratory he was employed there for seventeen years.
William's passions were his family, music, cooking and last but certainly not least, the Lord. he found the Lord in 1997 and joined the Friendship Baptist Church, Riverhead, NY. William was active in several church auxillaries, helping wherever he could. He was a member of the Willing Workers, Serendipity Club and Layman's Group.
William leaves a loving family to cherish fond memories of him: A loving companion, Naomi Cherry, who was there "for better or for worse, in sickness and in health." His daughters, Nicole Trent, Yolanda Blackmon of North Carolina, Lisa Trent of Virginia and Stephanie Trent of Brooklyn, New York; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Pastor Herbert Trent of Riverhead, NY; one sister, Shirley Robinson of Calverton, NY; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends.
It goes without saying that he had three dedicated grandsons: Darryn E. Hardin, Jr., Trevor Lee Hardin and Thomas Vernon Johnson, III. They loved their grandpa and each shared their own special love and care for him.
