Visitation will be from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. Friday (September 12, 2014) at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating.
Burial will be in Estates of Serenity in Marion with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.
Eunice was born on November 20, 1924 in Miami, Indiana, the daughter of Glenn and Elizabeth Hazel (Hudson) Stover. She married Maurice Althouse on April 1, 1950 in Marion.
She graduated from Marion High School in 1942 and worked for Indiana Bell Telephone for fifteen years. She served in the United States Army as a medical technician during WWII. She worked as a telephone operator in Michigan for six years and in California for ten years. She retired in 1989 from GTE in San Fernando, California.
Eunice was a member of Skinner Worship Chapel in Peru, Indiana. She was also a member of Independent Telephone Pioneers Association in Washington, D.C. and she served as Treasurer of Nature Center Associates of L.A. County, California.
Survivors include her son - Ed (Karen) Althouse of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter - Tina Perriguey of Acton, California; two grandchildren - Janelle (Patrick) Kohler and Kyle Althouse, and two great grandchildren - Matthew Kohler and Ella Kohler.
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter - Josi Lewis, and four sisters - Marianna Sipe, Margaret Hofferbert, Kay Druge, and Carol Edwards.
