Murrell E. Grant, 88, of Springfield, Mo. passed away on Friday morning at 8:40 a.m. in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
Murrell, the son of Linn and Osie (Looney) Grant, was born February 12, 1926 in Springfield,
Mo. He attended Marion C. Early Schools, Morrisville, Mo. He entered the Army on November 27, 1944 and was discharged August 29, 1946.
Murrell E. Grant and Anna Lee Boyd were united in marriage on October 10, 1946. To this union a son was born. Together they were privileged to share over sixty seven years.
He was Co-owner of Welhener Awning and Tent Company and was a real estate agent with Rocket Real Estate Co. He was a charter member of the Springfield Model T Car Club of America, he and Anna Lee traveled extensively all over the United States and Canada.
He was a member of the Dale Street United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed working with his hands and creating beautiful pieces in woodworking. He and his late father constructed the lake cabin where the family enjoyed so many fun times. He later built the family home which he and his family has enjoyed for the past fifty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment at Greenelawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Mo.
