The Plattsburgh Sentinel August 5, 1930

J. Frank Frazier, a widely known and highly respected resident of this city, died t the Champlain Valley Hospital Sunday morning after a long and painful illness, an illness he bore with Spartan courage and real Christian fortitude.

Had Mr Frazier lived but a few weeks longer he would have been sixty years of age, having been born in this city September 16, 1870. He was the son of the late Joseph Frazier and Mrs. Ellen Frazier. His mother is a resident of Sailly Avenue.

In his early years Mr. Frazier was a machinist, having been employed by the Williams Manufacturing Company in the manufacture of sewing machines and typewriters. For the past twenty years Mr. Frazier has been a valued employee of the Dock & Coal Company.

Mr. Frazier was long an active and earnest worker in fraternal orders. He was for twenty-eight years the valued record keeper of Plattsburgh Tent, No. 22, Knights of the Maccabees. He was supreme representative of the order for two years. Mr. Frazier was active in Odd Fellowship, having been secretary of the local lodge for a great many years. He was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

In 1901 Mr. Frazier was married to Minnie J. Cooke, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. William Cooke, and since that time has made his home at No. 7 Miller Street.

Mr. Frazier has for the past six years been a member of the Common Council, representing Ward 1 as alderman. At the time of his death he was serving as Acting Mayor of Plattsburgh.

Surviving Mr. Frazier is his widow, Mrs. Minnie J. Frazier; his mother, Mrs. Ellen Frazier; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Silver; a granddaughter, Charlotte Silver; three brothers, Stewart J. Frazier of this city, W.W. Frazier and E.R. Frazier of New York City, and one sister, Miss Nellie Frazier of Plattsburgh.

The funeral will be held from Trinity Church on Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
