John Willis Lisher, eldest child of Lewis and Evaline Lisher, was born in Shelby County, Indiana, Feb. 28, 1862. He moved with his parents to Sullivan County, Missouri when a small child, thence to Washington County, Kansas in 1871, and spent the remainder of his life in Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Seifert on Oct. 30, 1885. To this union was born four children, Mrs. Lois Reipen of Kansas City, Floyd Lisher of Agenda, Valentine Lisher of Clifton, and Mrs. Isadora Harrell of Agenda.

He passed away at his home in Agenda, Kan., Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, 1929, after a lingering illness, aged 67 years, 7 months, 24 days. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, four children, three grandchildren, two brother, one sister and a host of friends and relatives.

Some 12 years ago., Mr. and Mrs. Lisher decided to quit the farm. They purchased a home in Agenda and have been residents there since. During this time Mr. Lisher held various city offices. He was always of a pleasing disposition, was highly respected by all and will be greatly missed in the community.

The funeral was conducted on Thursday morning by Rev. Nutter. A male quartet composed of A. H. James, C. A. Lindahl, Will Myers and Eldon Myers rendered appropriate music and the body was laid to rest by the side of his parents in Farmington cemetery north of Cuba.
