Mrs. Mary Louise Colt was the wife of United States Senator Lebaron B. Colt. She was born in Milwaukie, Wisconsin in 1850. She was married to Mr. Colt in Chicago in 1873. She was the daughter of Guy Carleton, and on her mother’s side she was descended from the Ledyards, an old New England family. She came to Bristol with her husband to reside in 1875. During World War I, Mrs. Colt was chairman of the Navy league. Mrs. Colt died at her home, “Linden Place”, on July 2, 1922, after an illness of only a few days.
