Jim was a faithful member of First Baptist, Grandin Court Baptist and he attended Cave Spring Baptist Church. He had a deep faith and loving relationship with his Lord. Jim began his career with the Virginia Railroad and had continuous service with Norfolk and Western and Norfolk Southern Railroads before his retirement.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sue Bishop; daughter and son-in-law, Pati and Mike Dobie, of Dallas, TX; son and daughter-in-law, John and Teena Bishop, of Wytheville; only grandson, Ben Bishop; sister, Jean Cline; sister-in-law, Jean Dillon and husband, Roger; brother-in-law, Buddy Ferguson and wife, Barbara.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Oakey’s South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave, Roanoke, VA 24018.
