Angelo D. Del Monaco, 90, of Westfield passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Helen’s Church, Westfield. Friends may visit Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Entombment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
Angelo was born in Pietracupa, Italy and came to the US in 1940, settling in Westfield. He was employed as General Manager of King’s Supermarket in Maplewood for 45 years, before retiring in 1990. Angelo served in the US Army during WW II. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Maplewood and an usher at St. Helen’s Church. Predeceased by his wife Mary (Di Maio) Del Monaco in 2000 and his daughter Margaret Ball in 1999, Angelo is survived by his loving son, John and his wife Elissa, his grandson Eric and his wife Lindsay and his great grandson John. He is also survived by his sister Mary Buscaino.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Westfield Rescue Squad.
