Historical Papers" lists this marriage as "10-29-1849 - Ben W. Alley and Elizabeth Prewett. Consent of Jemima Taylor." Elizabeth was born 10 July 1828 and died 13 January 1882. She was buried on the point at the back of her husband's farm on John's Creek in Pike County. Ben married (2) 18 September 1882, Sarah (Alley) Dotson, a daughter of Thomas and Millie Alley, and widow of Simon Dotson. No children were born to this union. After Ben's second marriage, he moved to Wise County, Virginia, where he died. He was buried on the head of Mill Creek in Peter M. Alley's graveyard, Wise Co., Virginia.
