A. Margaret Hale, 92, South Pearl Street, died on Thursday evening, October 21, 1993, at Lewis County General hospital, Lowville, where she had been a patient since September 20.

Born on April 5, 1901, in Rome, daughter of Thomas and Edith Yauger Hale, she moved to Port Leyden in 1910 and attended school there.

Miss Hale was a ward supervisor for Rome State School until retiring in 1971.

She was a member of the Dewey Chapter #420, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Leyden Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a sister, Florence H. Murray, Port Leyden and cousins. Three brother predeceased her, Albert on Sept. 15, 1971, Leonard on June 16, 1977 and Howard "Ted" on October 28. 1979. Two sisters also died before her, Ernestine Hale on July 4, 1968 and Lillian Bohling on April 17, 1974.

A grave side service will be held in Rathbunville Cemetery at a later date, with the Rev. Luther Meekins officiating. Cremation was in Waterville Crematory.
